Default Hero levels

I think Heros should be the same level you are. Having a lvl 6 koss when you are lvl 20 is kinda crazy. Leveling heroes is just extra unecessary boring grind. I dont see any reason to be against this unless you like having to grind them up.

Well, I think that they should still level on their own, to a degree.

For example, you bring a character over from another campaign, adn what do you get? A level 2 warrior, level 4 monk, level 6 Dervish and a level 12 monk. Even worse, you have to use the level 4 monk in the mission that gets you to the mainland.

So I guess that characters brought over from other campaigns should at least get those four heroes at level 15.

You still get the heroes according to storyline level.
Ok old players get all 4 main heroes but again this would mean changing code coz this and this person is that level already and another isn't or is native/foreign.
Catch my drift.
Besides, levelling your heroes is piece of cake...
Let them die a bit etc. they can get a tan while they're lying dead.

Having level 2 Koss and needing him for several quests is a pain. They should be ~lvl 15 for tyrian/canthan chars.

Its still very unnecessary. The ones that I play with most of the time sure they level right up with me. But what if I decide that I want to go with the dervish hero thats been sitting there at level 3 since the beginning instead of the normal 2 monks and ranger hero? Now I have to level him up to a decent level first instead of being able to just use whoever i want when i want. Maybe if they allowed more than 3 heroes at once this wouldnt be a problem either. Then I could level them all up at the same time. But I would rather they just be whatever level I am from the beginning.
